An improving weather pattern is the main catalyst, but the lack of funds adding to net long positions in beans post Jan WASDE suggested that some were perhaps thinking that we may have seen the most bullish carry-out numbers. Heading into Jan and Feb., seasonals turn negative, and beans are now a sideways market from higher. Funds were using rally possibilities from business announcements yesterday as a liquidation event, something different from the time when this rally started. On behalf of a Canadian oilseed processer WPI's team provided market analysis, econometric modeling and financial due diligence in support of a $24 million-dollar investment in a Ukrainian crush plant. Consistent with WPI's findings, local production to supply the plant and the facility's output have expanded exponentially since the investment.
