GOOD MORNING, Prices are attempting to find overall trading range lows. Last week's round of liquidation hit the markets hard and most begin today still on the defensive. Overbought markets, margin calls, and violated key support levels created a break-down in the charts. The fall to lower levels will now shut off farmer selling and commercials may have to hunt for ways to get supplies if demand resurfaces this week. Over the weekend, Egypt purchased some soyoil for Feb/March delivery. Bean and corn export sales were very good last week, with meal a marketing year high, and lower values are going to probably trigger more demand for markets that still have tight ending stocks. Weighing in on strategic realignment
WPI’s team was retained by the governing board of a U.S. industry organization to review a decision, reached by vote, to invest significant assets into the development and management of an export trading company. WPI’s team conducted a formal review of this decision and concluded that the current level of market saturation would limit the benefits of the investment. Based on WPI’s analysis and recommended actions, the board subsequently reversed its decision and undertook a strategic planning effort to identify more impactful investments.
