Congress will soon break for the August recess. The House is expected to recess this  Friday; the Senate on Friday, 5 August. House members will be in their districts until 13 September, and Senators in their States until 6 September. When Congress comes back in September there will be a short session before adjourning in early October for the elections. Unless there is a lame duck session late in the year, there are really only about 20 legislative days left of the calendar.
