Russian Grain Markets: 18-22 April 2022 The Russian Ministry of Agriculture reported that the first 3.5 Mha of spring crops have been planted out of 53.6 Mha forecast. This year’s planting pace is in line with past year’s and around 12 Mha of winter wheat has been fertilized. An estimated 19 Mha of winter crop are in good condition which accounts for 97 percent which is better than last year. The Ministry expects that the cropped area in 2022 will reach 81.3 Mha which is almost 1 Mha up from last year. Communicating importance of value-added products
Facing increasing pressure to quantify the value of export promotion efforts to investors, a U.S. industry organization retained WPI to develop a quantitative model that better communicated the importance of exports. The resulting model concluded that value-added meat exports contributed $0.45 cents per bushel to the price of corn, increasing support for that sector’s financial support of WPI’s client. In addition to serving the red meat industry with this type of analysis, WPI has generated similar deliverables for the U.S. soybean and poultry/egg industries.
