Russian Grain Markets: 12–16 June 2023 According to the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, as of 5 June, total acreage of spring grains and legumes planted reached 29 Mha including: wheat – 13.5 Mha, barley – 7 Mha, corn – 2.5 Mha, and rice – 159,400 ha. Spring planting of all crops is 92 percent complete covering 50.7 Mha. This spring planting pace is a bit faster than a year ago. However, Siberia is suffering a drought which requires replanting. Many hectares of winter crops and flax are reportedly dead in western Siberia. Some of them will be replanted. The Ministry is estimating a 20 percent drop in winter crop yields. Infrastructure investment due diligence
On behalf of a Canadian oilseed processer WPI's team provided market analysis, econometric modeling and financial due diligence in support of a $24 million-dollar investment in a Ukrainian crush plant. Consistent with WPI's findings, local production to supply the plant and the facility's output have expanded exponentially since the investment. WPI has conducted parallel work on behalf of U.S., South American and European clients, both private and public, in the agri-food space.
