Russian Grains Markets: 20-24 June 2022 Russia launched harvesting in the Southern Federal District as well as in seized and annexed Ukrainian Crimea. Other temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories, which include parts of Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, and Lugansk, will be harvesting in a situation where military actions will take place at the same time as harvesting. Most if not all of this grain from occupied territories will be supplied to Africa, Middle East and other regions which suffer from insufficient food supplies. Several vessels were tracked going to Syria and Turkey with grain which has dubious origin or possibly a mix of Russian and seized Ukrainian grain. Infrastructure investment due diligence
On behalf of a Canadian oilseed processer WPI's team provided market analysis, econometric modeling and financial due diligence in support of a $24 million-dollar investment in a Ukrainian crush plant. Consistent with WPI's findings, local production to supply the plant and the facility's output have expanded exponentially since the investment. WPI has conducted parallel work on behalf of U.S., South American and European clients, both private and public, in the agri-food space.
