Russian Grains Market: 4-8 July 2022 Russia’s harvest continues showing good results thus supporting an optimistic forecast for wheat production during the 2022/23 season which has just started. Rostov Oblast, which is one of the largest producers and exporters of wheat, is expecting a record crop from last year when wheat; production was 12.7 MMT of which 11.5 MMT was winter wheat. Interestingly, Russia continues expansion of grain production further into Siberia. Weighing in on strategic realignment
WPI’s team was retained by the governing board of a U.S. industry organization to review a decision, reached by vote, to invest significant assets into the development and management of an export trading company. WPI’s team conducted a formal review of this decision and concluded that the current level of market saturation would limit the benefits of the investment. Based on WPI’s analysis and recommended actions, the board subsequently reversed its decision and undertook a strategic planning effort to identify more impactful investments.
