The harvesting pace is ahead of last year’s pace; however, production is only 64 MMT which is lower than last year’s crop. The grain production forecast of the Russian government remains at 132 MMT. Interestingly, Russian analysts forecast Russian grain production with occupied territories of Ukraine at 132 MMT where Russian grains will only be 128 MMT leaving around 4 MMT to be harvested on occupied territories. On behalf of a private U.S. agricultural technology provider, WPI’s team generated an econometric model to forecast the movement of concentrated corn production north and west from the traditional U.S. Corn Belt.
