Russian Grain Markets 23–27 October 2023  As of 27 October, winter crops were planted over 18.5 Mha versus the 20 Mha planned by the government. If Russia reaches this number, it will be up 1.5 Mha from last year. This also includes occupied territories of Ukraine, according to the government. Part of Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, and Luhansk Oblasts are still occupied including all of Azov Sea area. The lack of rainfall delayed planting progress, however, Russia is moving closer to the target. This fall’s planting campaign was also disrupted by fuel hikes, lack of spare parts for foreign farm machinery and their servicing.
