Planting Update According to the Ministry of Agriculture, on 22 March the spring planting campaign started in the southern regions of Ukraine. Spring grains were planted in Odesa region on 30,000 hectares out of 750,000 hectares planned. Farmers in Mykolayiv region continued to dress winter grains. They have 70 percent of the seeds needed for planting while Odesa farmers have 80 percent. Also, Odesa farmers have 62 percent of crop protective agents and 46 percent of fuel for planting. On behalf of a Canadian oilseed processer WPI's team provided market analysis, econometric modeling and financial due diligence in support of a $24 million-dollar investment in a Ukrainian crush plant. Consistent with WPI's findings, local production to supply the plant and the facility's output have expanded exponentially since the investment. WPI has conducted parallel work on behalf of U.S., South American and European clients, both private and public, in the agri-food space.
