Livestock Live Hog Price Reverses Course, Futures Down Again With the surprising uptick in domestic reproductive sow inventory, hog prices pulled back last week after a steady run that began in June. Nationally, the average price shed RMB .52/kg ($.03/lb.) or 2.3 percent last week to hold at just above RMB 22/kg ($1.48/lb.). That pushed down the average operating profit per live hog by RMB 67/head ($9.93/head) or 8.8 percent.
