Oilseeds Soymeal Inventory Recovers Ground on Improved Feed Demand With feed demand from poultry and aquaculture continuing to expand on the backs of China’s beleaguered hog industry, soymeal sales have begun to rise again. As of 17 May 2019, China’s estimated soymeal inventory stood at 616,600 MT, up 25,900 MT (+4.4 percent) from the previous week but down 590,800 MT (-48.9 percent) on an annualized basis. The main driver of the uptick was again the growing stocks in Guangxi Province, which climbed 23,000 MT (+41.8 percent) to 78,000 MT. With its access to the Gulf of Tonkin, the province produces a fair amount of poultry and has a strong aquaculture industry.
