Livestock China’s Live Hog Market Face Uncertainties, Nears Breakeven Point According to the Ministry of Agricultural and Rural Affairs’ (MARA) recent official survey, hog slaughter output was up 41 percent in April. Through the first four months of 2021, production has increased by nearly 40 percent from a year ago. The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) noted that a total of 171.4 million were slaughtered in the first quarter or about 57 million head per month.
