The House of Representatives may take up the FY2024 Agricultural Appropriations bill this week, and then again, it may not. First, in the House, legislation has to go through the Rules Committee where that panel sets the rules of debate, including which amendments are considered in order and which are considered out of order. Lawmakers have already filed between 150 and 160 amendments to the bill, of which many come from the Republican side of the aisle. WPI’s team was retained by the governing board of a U.S. industry organization to review a decision, reached by vote, to invest significant assets into the development and management of an export trading company. WPI’s team conducted a formal review of this decision and concluded that the current level of market saturation would limit the benefits of the investment. Based on WPI’s analysis and recommended actions, the board subsequently reversed its decision and undertook a strategic planning effort to identify more impactful investments.
