Congress has struck a deal on a funding bill to keep the government open through the end of FY 2017, and it also addresses many ag policy issues that WPI has reported on over the past two years.On 28 April, Congress agreed to a one-week continuing resolution (CR) as a stopgap measure to fund the government beyond that date’s midnight deadline. Congress will now have to pass the budget agreement hammered out over the weekend by midnight 5 May or go back to the drawing board. If passed, the compromise agreement would fund the government through the end of the fiscal year on 30 September 2017.
