Congress stands in recess until next month. The Senate has passed the $1.2 trillion infrastructure package and the $3.5 trillion budget resolution, and the House of Representatives will take up those two items upon returning to session. But mixed up with those votes, the next big Congressional votes coming are a continuing resolution (CR) to fund the government after 30 September which is the end of the fiscal year and raising the debt limit. While the budget resolution for next year will set the parameters of federal fiscal policy, the 12 appropriations bills which actually fund the government in FY 2022 have not been passed; until then, a CR will be needed. Communicating importance of value-added products
Facing increasing pressure to quantify the value of export promotion efforts to investors, a U.S. industry organization retained WPI to develop a quantitative model that better communicated the importance of exports. The resulting model concluded that value-added meat exports contributed $0.45 cents per bushel to the price of corn, increasing support for that sector’s financial support of WPI’s client. In addition to serving the red meat industry with this type of analysis, WPI has generated similar deliverables for the U.S. soybean and poultry/egg industries.
