These rains have revived hopes for the 2025 crops, though areas of concern still linger. Most of central/southern France remains too dry and Spain has received little rain as well. The 2-week outlook is also concerning as a dry pattern is set for eastern Europe, the Black Sea, and southern Russia that will add to crop stress. On behalf of a private U.S. agricultural technology provider, WPI’s team generated an econometric model to forecast the movement of concentrated corn production north and west from the traditional U.S. Corn Belt.
