Regional News The EU and Mercosur trade blocs finally signed a free trade agreement that had been delayed and debated for 25 years or so. EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen heralded the agreement in a press conference in Montevideo and cited the need for more free trade in the face of increasing protectionism. Nigeria has emerged as the top importer of EU wheat this marketing year with 1.614 MMT purchased so far, up 16 percent year-over-year. The United Kingdom, Morocco, Egypt, and Algeria fill out the rest of the top five importers for this year. Infrastructure investment due diligence
On behalf of a Canadian oilseed processer WPI's team provided market analysis, econometric modeling and financial due diligence in support of a $24 million-dollar investment in a Ukrainian crush plant. Consistent with WPI's findings, local production to supply the plant and the facility's output have expanded exponentially since the investment.
