The Senate had no votes on the farm bill Monday night. Because Tuesdays are the day of traditional party caucus meetings and the Senate was in recess for the party confabs, not much progress was made in terms of voting on amendments. However, some action was reported. There are 34 amendments filed at this point. The "box score" is as follows.Nutrition and crop insurance will be the biggest areas of debate and controversy. WPI’s team was retained by the governing board of a U.S. industry organization to review a decision, reached by vote, to invest significant assets into the development and management of an export trading company. WPI’s team conducted a formal review of this decision and concluded that the current level of market saturation would limit the benefits of the investment.
