The House will vote on the farm bill this Thursday. This afternoon, the House Rules Committee is meeting to consider the rule for the House’s consideration of the farm bill, specifically determining which amendments can and cannot be offered. There are a number of controversial amendments, including one offered by Representative Andy Ogles (R-Tennessee) that would, notwithstanding any other provision, prohibit any farm receiving coverage under the federal crop insurance program from being eligible for coverage under either the Price Loss Coverage (PLC) program or the Agricultural Risk Coverage (ARC) program in a single fiscal year.
