The latest iteration makes maximal use of scientific flexibility and comes from United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Gutierrez who just birthed the uber alarmist term “global boiling.” The development of carbon offsets and sequestration (CCS) would allow the continued use of fossil fuels, so the language is shifting. Instead of emissions being the culprit, the target is specifically fossil fuels.
