Respondents to our recent online survey regarding expected U.S. economic growth this year were decidedly on the bearish side (see graph below). A sub-par 2.0 percent expansion implies more hurt from the sequester than is perceived on Wall Street. The sequester has most forecasters predicting U.S. GDP growth in 2013 at 2.4 percent, while investment guru Bill Gross just raised his prediction to 3.0 percent.
