House Agriculture Committee Chairman Frank Lucas (R-Oklahoma) has announced his intention to convene a markup for the 2013 Farm Bill on or about 15 May. The Chairman's mark has not yet been crafted, but it is expected that it will be much the same structure as last year's bill, which means it will need to find additional savings. On behalf of a Canadian oilseed processer WPI's team provided market analysis, econometric modeling and financial due diligence in support of a $24 million-dollar investment in a Ukrainian crush plant. Consistent with WPI's findings, local production to supply the plant and the facility's output have expanded exponentially since the investment.
