In mythology or legends, the hero is obviously identified – the “good guy” standing up for justice, not compromising what is right, and displays courage or other noble and admired qualities. Standing in contrast – but not quite opposite – to the hero is the anti-hero. Far from being a villain, however, the anti-hero is someone who lacks the traditional hero qualities. They may bend (or outright break) the rules to achieve the greater good and adopt unconventional tactics to achieve their aims.
