The WTI Crude oil futures saw its third consecutive day of gains from the impacts of Hurricane Francine in the Gulf of Mexico and the contract remains up on the week. Francine made landfall on Wednesday on the Louisiana coast and has now been downgraded to a tropical storm. It is tracking well inland and is expected to be in northeast Arkansas by this evening. Inland crude production has not been materially affected. Production will soon start to recover, and the hurricane rally may prove to be short lived, but Francine was more impactful than Hurricane Beryl this past July.
