The odds are that a shutdown is coming, given the House is in recess until tomorrow, 1 October. President Trump met with the top Congressional leadership at the White House today to try to work out an agreement, but the outcome of that is unclear. The House has a Continuing Resolution (CR) already, which keeps funding at 2024 levels through 21 November, buying time for longer term negotiations, including the Affordable Care Act insurance premium subsidies and tax credits. WPI’s team was retained by the governing board of a U.S. industry organization to review a decision, reached by vote, to invest significant assets into the development and management of an export trading company.
