CBOT markets opened on a mixed tone following yesterday’s Grain Stocks report but most commodities finished higher. Soymeal and soybeans led the soy complex higher on stronger fundamentals and continued fund short-covering. The U.S. forecast is trending wetter for the first two weeks of October, with ample rains for the Western Corn Belt this week. Next week will feature a shift in the precipitation patterns to favor Illinois and Indiana. The PNW remains cooler than normal but, fortunately, the bulk of the Midwest will retain above-average heat, despite the coming rainfall.
