General Comments Good U.S. economic news regarding increased new housing construction and low inflation along with an apparent calming in the Russia/Ukraine conflict sent the stock market and the U.S. dollar index higher today. The Dow closed up about 80 points and is now over 16,900. The announcement that Russia's President Putin would meet with Ukrainian President Poroshenko in Minsk on 26 August together with officials from EU countries was taken as a positive sign regarding the conflict in eastern Ukraine.Wheat futures...
