The CBOT was sharply lower for the day with wheat, corn, and soybeans all breaking major technical support points. Yesterday’s better-than-expected Crop Conditions report from USDA added pressure overnight, despite the two-week forecast for very hot temperatures and dry conditions for the Midwest. Funds were net sellers for the day with technicals weakening significantly and now coupled with a more bearish outlook from USDA. Also working against commodity markets was disappointing economic data from China that revived fears about an economic slowdown in the country. Infrastructure investment due diligence
On behalf of a Canadian oilseed processer WPI's team provided market analysis, econometric modeling and financial due diligence in support of a $24 million-dollar investment in a Ukrainian crush plant. Consistent with WPI's findings, local production to supply the plant and the facility's output have expanded exponentially since the investment. WPI has conducted parallel work on behalf of U.S., South American and European clients, both private and public, in the agri-food space.
