The futures market did not post any particularly large rallies on Friday, indicating Thursday’s trade was mostly sufficient to “price in” the new information from USDA’s reports. Another weekend forecast of hot, dry weather for Argentina, however, is keeping upward pressure on the markets with the country’s corn and soybean crops likely to be revised lower still in coming reports. WPI’s team was retained by the governing board of a U.S. industry organization to review a decision, reached by vote, to invest significant assets into the development and management of an export trading company. WPI’s team conducted a formal review of this decision and concluded that the current level of market saturation would limit the benefits of the investment.
