The CBOT found a bit of strength for the day with corn seeing the most bullish action on expectations of a smaller 2023/24 Brazilian crop. Corn posted its second straight higher close with mild fund participation and the strength spilled over into wheat and soybeans to a small degree. Fresh news was a light for the day, except fresh daily “flash” export sales of soybeans, and the broader encouragement that Ukraine’s successful shipment of 3 KMT of wheat out of the Black Sea has brought to markets. On behalf of a Canadian oilseed processer WPI's team provided market analysis, econometric modeling and financial due diligence in support of a $24 million-dollar investment in a Ukrainian crush plant. Consistent with WPI's findings, local production to supply the plant and the facility's output have expanded exponentially since the investment.
