The CBOT ended the week on a mixed note with the soy complex continuing its selloff with additional pressure from sharp losses in palm oil futures. Corn was pulled lower by the soybean weakness and from a much-improved weather outlook for the U.S. in the next two weeks. Wheat futures were the only market to see substantial strength, but even HRW futures – despite a rash of bullish inputs – settled lower for the day. Risk-off trade was a theme of the day with the macro-market meltdown of the past two days dampening investors’ risk appetite.
