Weather conditions have been unfavorable recently with no rain and frosts causing wheat conditions to deteriorate. The good/excellent rating fell 7.4 percent from last week to 47.6 percent while moisture conditions fell from 64.9 percent good/optimum to just 56.6 percent. The new data means 43 percent of the crop is growing under normal or dry conditions. Fortunately, the crop is just starting its development and weather is not critical for the current growth stage.
