Wheat Argentina’s wheat markets – and much of the world – remains focused on the weather issues plaguing the new crop, which will be harvested starting in November. The rains are not coming for Argentina’s wheat belt and conditions continue to deteriorate in most of the country. Moreover, there were fields last week that suffered frost and the stress is only magnified by the presence of drought. According to the Buenos Aires Grain Exchange, only 17 percent of Argentina’s wheat crop is rated good/excellent, and 26 percent of the crop is in poor/very poor condition. Additionally, 35 percent of the crop is in soils with poor/dry conditions.
