Rumors of a possible 6 MMT quota for U.S. soybeans brought additional nervousness to Brazilian suppliers. On the other hand, however, Chinese buyers kept securing Brazilian spot soybeans, suggesting the U.S. quota had already been used and China still needed to buy more soybeans. There were several cargoes traded for October, November, and December either CNF China or FOB. Prices were 194-202X CNF for October and November, depending on the position, while December traded at 190F. On behalf of a Canadian oilseed processer WPI's team provided market analysis, econometric modeling and financial due diligence in support of a $24 million-dollar investment in a Ukrainian crush plant. Consistent with WPI's findings, local production to supply the plant and the facility's output have expanded exponentially since the investment. WPI has conducted parallel work on behalf of U.S., South American and European clients, both private and public, in the agri-food space.
