Corn Argentina’s corn planting advanced 7.4 percentage points over the past week and reached 19.8 percent of the 7.8 MHa projected for the season. Favorable soil moisture continues to support early planting and put progress roughly 7 points ahead of last year. However, western, central, and northeastern Buenos Aires remain affected by poor field conditions and damaged rural roads, slowing operations. In market terms, corn was the least affected by the recent cut in export taxes. Exporters reported foreign sales of about 2 MMT, but that volume had already been purchased in the local market.
