Mexico’s Presidential election was held this weekend; the Mayor of Mexico City, Claudia Sheinbaum, won an overwhelming majority.
President-elect Sheinbaum will be Mexico’s first woman president (defeating another woman candidate, Xochitl Galvez, who came in second) and inherited the mantle of outgoing President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador (AMLO) and their left positioned Morena Party which AMLO founded.
