Turkey may pull out of its customs union with the EU if the EU/U.S. Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) is ratified without its inclusion. The government stated that  products of non-EU origin are able to surreptitiously enter its borders due to EU trade agreements with other countries, and it does not want the same to occur with U.S. products.
