Egypt will set up its first commodity exchange by January 2021 – wheat, corn, rice and sugar are the initial commodities that will be traded. The exchange is being financed by state banks and major local investment companies. The Egyptian government will hold 51 percent of the shares. The exchange will trade in spot commodities transactions with no current plans to offer commodity futures. It is expected that the exchange will allow for better organization of markets and prices. Infrastructure investment due diligence
On behalf of a Canadian oilseed processer WPI's team provided market analysis, econometric modeling and financial due diligence in support of a $24 million-dollar investment in a Ukrainian crush plant. Consistent with WPI's findings, local production to supply the plant and the facility's output have expanded exponentially since the investment. WPI has conducted parallel work on behalf of U.S., South American and European clients, both private and public, in the agri-food space.
