Wheat and wheat flour shortages have developed in some parts of the country and these government actions are expected to help control the rapid rise in wheat and wheat flour prices. The wheat import duty had been set at 8 percent. The latest FAO report on Yemen shows that the local wheat and sorghum harvest will be well below the five-year average. The total Yemen crop is only at about 365,000 MT while grain imports will be up at 4.3 MMT – 3.2 MMT wheat, 700,000 MT maize and 400,000 MT rice. Infrastructure investment due diligence
On behalf of a Canadian oilseed processer WPI's team provided market analysis, econometric modeling and financial due diligence in support of a $24 million-dollar investment in a Ukrainian crush plant. Consistent with WPI's findings, local production to supply the plant and the facility's output have expanded exponentially since the investment.
