In 2021 the main region importers of Indian wheat were Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and UAE. Total wheat exports by India in 2022 could be as high as 10 MMT. Experts say that this level of exports could be very difficult for India due to limited bulk grain storage and export facilities. Forecasting developments in production agriculture
On behalf of a private U.S. agricultural technology provider, WPI’s team generated an econometric model to forecast the movement of concentrated corn production north and west from the traditional U.S. Corn Belt. WPI’s model has subsequently provided quantitative support to a multi-million-dollar investment into short-season corn variety development.
