Regional Updates MEDITERRANEAN/MIDDLE EAST/NORTH AFRICA/AFRICA – MEA REGION Pakistan flour millers in Sindh Province are “alleging” that the government is not releasing wheat even after full payment has been made by millers. 500,000 bags of wheat were supposed to have been released for milling but only 200,000 bags have been released which has created wheat flour shortages in the province. Pakistan’s president said that this year’s 27.5 MMT wheat crop is due to government efforts, timely decisions, quality seed, and available fertilizer.
