Once again, the big shock from the report was the decline in beef and pork supplies that pulled red meat stocks down 13.7 percent from October 2022. Total poultry meat inventories fell 6 percent from September, slightly less than their normal seasonal decrease, and were up 0.2 percent year over year (YoY). On behalf of a private U.S. agricultural technology provider, WPI’s team generated an econometric model to forecast the movement of concentrated corn production north and west from the traditional U.S. Corn Belt.
