Argentina Reduces Soybean and Corn Production Forecasts Argentina's Agriculture Ministry yesterday reduced its forecast for its 2012 soybean crop to 48.9 MMT; its forecast last month was for a crop between 52-53 MMT. The Ministry said 54 percent of the soy crop is in good shape, 34 percent in average condition and 12 percent in bad condition. It said there is still potential for the soybean crop to improve, but for that to occur there would need to be good rains for the remainder of the growing.The Ministry also reduced its forecast for the Argentine corn crop to only 23 MMT compared to its previous forecast of up to 30 MMT.
