India Considering 10 Percent Export Tax on Soymeal The Indian Ministry of Agriculture has proposed imposing a 10 percent export tax on soymeal for at least the next six months. It also has proposed eliminating the 15 percent duty on soymeal and other protein meals for the same period. During April, May and June of this year, India exported 637,407 MT of soymeal, an increase of 6 percent over a year earlier.The proposals are aimed at increasing the availability of soymeal in the domestic market mainly for the poultry sector as well as to moderate prices.
