Drought Cuts Australian Canola Crop Forecast The Australian Oilseeds Federation (AOF) this week reduced its forecast for that country's upcoming canola harvest. The AOF is now predicting the crop at 2,732,500 MT, down from last year's crop of 3,185,000 MT. The decline is predicted even though this year's national planted area was 23.7 percent greater than last year's harvested area. The sharpest decline is forecasted for Western Australia, where production is forecasted at 906,500 MT in the upcoming harvest versus 1,240,000 MT last year in spite of this year's planted area being 13.2 percent greater than last year's harvested area.
