China to Buy New Crop Soybeans from Farmers Reports out of China indicate China's National Development and Reform Commission next week will send a proposal to the State Council to purchase 2012 crop soybeans to replenish reserve stocks. If the plan is approved, it will be the fifth year in a row that the government has purchased soybeans from farmers to support prices and build reserve stocks.An unidentified source told Bloomberg that the proposed price for the soybeans will be 4,600 yuan/MT or about $736/MT ($20.06/bushel).
