Huge Soybean Export Inspections Last Week The U.S. soybean harvest may have been a bit later than normal this year, but U.S. exports are clearly catching up quickly to the pace of last year. Yesterday's USDA export inspections report indicated a total of 59.325 million bushels (1.616 MMT) of soybeans were inspected for export last week. Of that amount, 82.6 percent were shipments destined for China and 64,942 MT were containerized shipments. The shipments to China were to be exported from all coastal ranges including the Atlantic, Louisiana Gulf, Texas Gulf and PNW. Weighing in on strategic realignment
WPI’s team was retained by the governing board of a U.S. industry organization to review a decision, reached by vote, to invest significant assets into the development and management of an export trading company. WPI’s team conducted a formal review of this decision and concluded that the current level of market saturation would limit the benefits of the investment. Based on WPI’s analysis and recommended actions, the board subsequently reversed its decision and undertook a strategic planning effort to identify more impactful investments.
