U.S. Soy Export Sales and Exports Update Today’s USDA/FAS export sales report indicated exporters had a positive week selling U.S. soybeans for export in the week ending 23 September. Soybean exports also picked up from the previous week. Sales of soymeal also were fairly positive. Net sales of soybeans for export in 2021/22 totaled 1,093,900 MT. The top sales were for China (776,500 MT), Egypt (92,500 MT), the Netherlands (86,300 MT), Turkey (55,000 MT), Mexico (43,400 MT), Italy (39,200 MT), and Spain (33,000 MT). Sales of 7,800 MT of soybeans to Cuba for export in 2022/23 also were reported. Soybean exports last week totaled 528,700 MT. On behalf of a Canadian oilseed processer WPI's team provided market analysis, econometric modeling and financial due diligence in support of a $24 million-dollar investment in a Ukrainian crush plant. Consistent with WPI's findings, local production to supply the plant and the facility's output have expanded exponentially since the investment. WPI has conducted parallel work on behalf of U.S., South American and European clients, both private and public, in the agri-food space.
