U.S. Soybean Export Sales Shift to New Crop Today’s USDA/FAS export sales report further confirmed the ongoing shift in U.S. sales of soybeans from the 2020 crop to the 2021 crop. Tight U.S. soybean stocks and less expensive soybean exports from South America are combining to cause the decline in old crop sales. Net soybean export sales in the week ending 1 April for shipment in 2020/21 were a negative 92,500 MT. WPI’s team was retained by the governing board of a U.S. industry organization to review a decision, reached by vote, to invest significant assets into the development and management of an export trading company. WPI’s team conducted a formal review of this decision and concluded that the current level of market saturation would limit the benefits of the investment.
